Sneak toward shaking grass, confirm the silhouette, then chain captures. Each successful encounter boosts IV rolls, move inheritance, and shiny rate.
Chain milestones (5/10/25) reward passive buffs like +1 egg move slot, +10% shiny odds, or double loot from Hidden Grottos.
Best chains for Chapter 1–2. Weather typically rotates between sun and light rain.
Unlocked after Crystal Expanse. Expect hail and sandstorms affecting spawn pools.
Post-Chapter 5 zones with rare paradox Pokémon and hidden ability starters.
Certain bushes glow cyan, indicating a guaranteed hidden ability if you keep stealth walking. Combine with the Scanner Lens item for alerts.
DexNav chains add +0.05% per encounter up to +3% when combined with the Luminous Charm. Fleeing or catching a different species resets the bonus.

Farm Storm Puff on Route 2 during thunderstorms, combine Luminous Charm, and stick to 50+ chains for sub-hour shinies.
Use the Ferrystone ferry to hop between microclimates—Route 9 at dusk spawns DexNav-only Spiritomb, while Crystal Rift nights spawn Sound-type Eeveelutions.
Consult the Harbor Observatory board to see hourly weather seeds. Schedule DexNav hunts for sandstorms or auroras to expand spawn pools.
Log every capture inside the Pokemon Lazarus Pokedex and track hidden areas with the secret zones guide.
For better loot, pair your hunts with the evolution item routes and the broader item farming page.
Once your roster is ready, plan arena counters using the gym leaders breakdown or refine coverage with the TM/HM list.
